Job summary

Horrocks in Pleasant Grove, UT is seeking a Senior Traffic Engineer to plan, manage, and deliver complex transportation projects with a focus on ITS, traffic signals, and roadway lighting. The role combines technical leadership with project management, client coordination, and mentoring of engineering teams to ensure high-quality, compliant solutions.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required; PTOE certification preferred.
• 8+ years of professional experience in traffic or transportation engineering with project and team leadership experience.

Responsibilities

• Manage and deliver traffic signal, ITS, and lighting projects from planning through design and construction support.
• Lead project scope development, budgeting, scheduling, staffing, and coordination to meet objectives.
• Oversee analysis, design, and preparation of plans, specs, estimates, and memos.
• Ensure compliance with MUTCD, FHWA, AASHTO and local standards.
• Serve as primary technical contact for clients and stakeholders while supporting proposals.
• Provide technical oversight and mentorship to engineering staff.
• Coordinate with roadway, structural, planning, utility, drainage, and construction teams for integrated delivery.
