Job summary

Maryland Department of Transportation is seeking a Traffic Engineer (Transportation Engineer III) in Baltimore City to develop and support travel demand forecasts and complex analyses for planning, design, and construction projects. You will apply traffic engineering principles and forecasting methods across SHA and MDOT partners.

The role involves developing models, reports, and memos; coordinating schedules with stakeholders; and representing the division in meetings and public forums.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited college or university.
• Two years of professional engineering experience.
• Two years of traffic/transportation engineering/analysis and/or transportation data/planning experience.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and support travel demand forecasts and technical analyses for planning, design, and construction projects.
• Develop and review traffic analysis models, technical reports and memos.
• Coordinate project schedules and activities with internal and external stakeholders.
• Represent the division in meetings and public forums.
• Review traffic impact studies and prepare traffic forecasts and data for design offices.
