Qualifications

• Must hold a current Louisiana Professional Engineer license.
• Three years of licensed engineering experience or seven years of professional engineering experience.
• Master's degree substitutes for one year of experience; doctorate substitutes for two years; advanced degrees substitute for up to two years.

Responsibilities

• Directs all district traffic engineering activities and traffic studies.
• Coordinates district sign shop, striping crew and electricians to complete duties.
• Reviews driveway and access permit applications as requested by the district permit specialist.
• Reviews construction/maintenance plans and approves traffic control plans.
• Investigates and analyzes existing traffic control devices at abnormal accident locations.
• Oversees district outdoor advertising, junkyard, logo, and TODS programs for compliance with FHWA requirements.
