Overview

Woolpert is hiring a Senior Traffic Engineer to join our Infrastructure team at our Ohio offices. The role involves managing traffic projects, conducting traffic impact and safety studies, and designing traffic signals and maintenance plans. Candidates should have a BA in Civil Engineering, with priority given to those with PTOE certification. The position offers leadership opportunities, project management, and a hybrid work environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage traffic projects and tasks within larger projects.
• Lead or assist in managing staff plans, schedules, and budgets.
• Develop traffic signal designs, safety studies, and maintenance of traffic plans.
• Prepare technical reports and clear presentations for diverse audiences.
• Work within client standards across public and private sectors.
• Review work prepared by others, including studies and designs.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

• BA in Civil Engineering or related field
• 10+ years of experience
• PE license with ability to obtain Ohio licensure within 1 year
• Experience in traffic studies, signal timing, lighting design, and ITS
• Proficiency in Civil 3D or Microsoft ORD
• Familiarity with traffic analysis software such as HCS or Synchro

Preferred Skills

• PTOE certification
• Experience in Ohio, Indiana, or Texas traffic projects
• Leadership in traffic projects, including team coordination and quality review
• Ability to communicate with clients and subconsultants
• Field work experience is a plus
