Arkansas Department of Transportation is seeking a Roadway Design/Traffic Engineering professional to design complex traffic control systems, highway illumination and signing, and to study and recommend actions to improve highway capacity and safety.

The role requires an Arkansas professional engineer license or ABET-accredited civil engineering degree with eligibility, plus at least three years of engineering experience including traffic engineering.

Qualifikationen

• Possess Arkansas PE licensure or ABET-accredited civil engineering degree with eligibility.
• Minimum of three years engineering experience including traffic engineering.

Aufgaben

• Investigate, compile data, analyze, and develop recommendations for traffic operation improvements.
• Prepare design plans including specifications, material quantities, and cost estimates.
• Review materials and equipment to be used in projects for the installation of traffic control devices.
• Coordinate and prepare design plans for inclusion in Roadway Design and State Aid plans.
• Provide traffic engineering expertise to various Divisions, Districts, and local government.
• Work closely with Signal System software.
• Travel to project locations to view job sites or attend project meetings as a subject matter expert.
