Job summary

The Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) seeks a Traffic Data Analyst to analyze traffic statistics, maintain GIS maps, and support statewide planning efforts. The role collaborates with CDOT, FHWA, and MPOs to provide data-driven insights for long-range and corridor planning.

Applicants should have extensive experience with GIS, data analytics, and databases, and be able to develop reports and data visualizations to support transportation decisions.

Qualifications

• Six years of professional work experience in Information Systems, GIS, Civil Engineering, Transportation Planning, Statistics or related field with at least two years in acquiring, analyzing, and interpreting traffic data; database management and GIS technologies.
• Or a combination of relevant education and experience totaling six years in these areas.
• Experience with GIS and databases is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Analyze traffic statistics for long-range and corridor planning.
• Develop GIS maps and geodatabases for analysis and reporting.
• Support data integration with CDOT data warehouses and related systems.
• Coordinate with FHWA, MPOs, and planning partners on data needs and reporting.
• Prepare data reports and respond to specialized data requests.
