DC Government in Washington, DC is seeking a Traffic Control Officer Supervisor within the District Department of Transportation. The role provides first-line supervision of the Traffic Control Officer Branch, directing shift activities, assigning work, and enforcing traffic and safety regulations to protect pedestrians and motorists.

The incumbent oversees day-to-day operations, mentors subordinates, and coordinates training, safety compliance, and deployment plans, ensuring responsive service

Qualifications

• Undergraduate and Graduate Education: Major study -- accounting, business administration, business or commercial law, commerce, economics, engineering, finance, industrial management, statistics, traffic management, transportation, motor mechanics, or other fields related to the position.
• Specialized experience includes ability to lead and supervise staff; application of Public Safety and Security policies to promote effective local operations; knowledge of qualitative/quantitative methods for program assessment.

Responsibilities

• Set goals and assignments through team leaders; administratively and technically direct the work of subordinates.
• Monitor day-to-day operations; ensure staff are trained and schedules managed.
• Review processes for compliance and improve traffic control performance and customer service.
