Job summary

Teledyne FLIR is seeking a Senior Trade Compliance Manager for Jurisdiction and Classification to lead the JC program within Teledyne’s Aerospace and Defense group. This role will supervise JC Focal teams, review classifications, and liaise with CITC and other regulatory bodies.

A strong background in ITAR/EAR/OFAC and engineering regulatory analysis is required. The position involves collaborating with engineers during product development, training on JC processes, and providing strategic

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university is required.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience or equivalent combination with emphasis in engineering and regulatory analysis.
• Experience with U.S. export regulations including ITAR, EAR, and OFAC; knowledge of UK/EU/UAE and/or Norwegian export control laws preferred.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret governmental regulations, write reports, and present information to business leaders.
• Experience with SAP, GTS, and OCR.

Responsibilities

• Perform second level JC classification reviews for Teledyne Aerospace and Defense.
• Collaborate with engineering, product development, and project management to address classification issues.
• Bridge the engineering with regulatory aspects in product development.
• Supervise and support the JC Focal teams.
• Provide strategic guidance on classifying items for market introduction.
• Monitor applicable regulations and lead holds/updates with licensing teams and business units.
• Develop, implement, manage, and train on JC processes and tools for JC assignment.
• Maintain and update local JC policies and procedures.
• Draft and submit JC determinations to US State Dept / BIS.
• Assist the business with investigations and disclosures of trade compliance incidents.
• Conduct periodic audits and self-audits and implement corrective actions.
• Provide periodic reporting and metrics to stakeholders and CITC.
