Highway Transport in Chicago, IL seeks a Mechanics II to perform preventative maintenance and repairs on tractors and trailers, ensuring DOT compliance and safety. You will diagnose systems, assist drivers, and maintain documentation, working in a supportive team environment.

The role requires 1+ years of mechanical experience, tooling proficiency, and the ability to work a second shift (2pm-10:30pm). A comprehensive benefits package is offered with strong safety standards.

Competenze

• 1+ years of mechanical experience.
• Must possess necessary tooling: sockets 1.25" and smaller; air tools 1/2" drive and smaller; volt meter/test light.
• Acceptable tool chest to store personal tools.

Mansioni

• Perform preventative maintenance on tractors and trailers.
• Assist other technicians with repairs.
• Conduct DOT inspections and brake inspections/repairs.
• Service air systems and brakes.
• Diagnose and repair subsystems (suspension, drivetrain, HVAC, electrical).
• Lift and install heavy components when required.
• Ensure proper repair order documentation and charging.
