Job summary

Parsons is seeking a Senior Technical Director – Traction Power to lead and grow the Rail and Transit Traction Power Team in the U.S. West Region. You will guide technical direction, manage projects, and engage clients across North America, focusing on rail electrification solutions and complex substations.

You will oversee design, validation, and construction support while mentoring a team of engineers and coordinating with multidisciplinary groups to deliver high-quality outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Active Professional Engineer license.
• 20+ years of progressive experience in rail and transit electrical systems, traction power, or related field.
• Demonstrated experience leading traction power design and delivery teams on major transit projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow Parsons’ Rail and Transit Traction Power Team across the Western United States.
• Provide technical leadership for traction power, OCS, rail electrical systems, and related disciplines.
• Review and translate design studies into constructible designs and construction deliverables.
• Ensure compliance with NFPA 130, NEC, IEEE standards and other codes.
• Mentor and develop the traction power team and coordinate resources for peak workloads.
