Job summary

Antora Energy is hiring an experienced mechanical engineer to own the design, sourcing, and manufacture of TPV hardware. You will lead the development of large extruded cold plates and DBC-based modules, then scale to production with a strong supplier network, DFx focus, and cost-reduction efforts.

You will collaborate with thermal, electrical, and test teams at our R&D facility, execute first-order thermal models, and ensure release-ready drawings with GD&T. On-site in Sunnyvale, CA.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional mechanical engineering experience, including hardware you carried from prototype into production.
• Deep knowledge of CNC machining, extrusion, brazing, welding, sheet metal and cost drivers.
• Experience working with machine shops, fabricators, RFQs, supplier selection, and first-article inspection.
• Expert in release-ready drawings with GD&T and tolerance analysis.
• Proficient in 3D CAD and PDM/PLM workflows.
• Hands-on builder who can prototype, fixture, and test hardware.
• Experience with liquid-cooled or thermally loaded hardware and thermal interfaces.
• Ability to work on-site and communicate clearly across disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Own mechanical design of TPV hardware from concept to production release.
• Design, prototype, and test next-gen TPV assembly with large extruded cold plates and DBC-based modules.
• Frame thermal simulations and run first-order models to screen options.
• Use AI tools throughout supplier packages, cost models, and analyses.
• Produce release-ready drawings with GD&T and tolerances.
• Build and manage supplier base, run RFQs, and manage lead times and quality issues.
• Drive DFM/DFA and cost-down, owning BOM and cost model.
• Move hardware into production via prototyping, assembly, and fixture design.
• Plan and run thermal, pressure, leak, and reliability tests with the team.
• Document designs and procedures for repeatable manufacturing.
