Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 3+ years of experience directly managing and developing teams of TPMs or software engineers.
• Proven track record of managing complex technical programs involving ML platforms, data pipelines, training, evaluation frameworks, or ML infrastructure.
• Experience leading transformational, cross functional programs end-to-end, with timelines, risks, and dependencies across senior stakeholders.
• Strong technical judgment with ability to contribute to strategic technical direction and balance velocity vs. quality.
• 10+ years of experience as a Technical Program Manager in software engineering, large-scale infrastructure, or ML environments.

Responsibilities

• Strategic Leadership & Vision: define and drive the long-term vision for Waymo's Simulation and ML Evaluation platforms.
• ML Integration: lead programs that integrate simulation into the ML development loop for training, offline evaluation, and validation.
• Transformational Program Delivery: oversee cross-functional programs to scale evaluation infrastructure and accelerate developer velocity.
• Resource & Capacity Optimization: manage resourcing, budgets, and compute/infrastructure needs.
• Influence & Alignment: navigate ambiguity and align dependencies across organizational boundaries.
• Team Development & People Management: build and mentor a high-performing TPM team.
