Job summary

Merck & Co. is seeking an Associate Director of Technical Project Management to drive digital, automation, and data integration across capital projects within the Digital Manufacturing Division MVT portfolio. You will ensure compliant, scalable solutions for startup readiness and sustained manufacturing performance.

Lead cross-functional teams, manage scope, schedule, and risks, and embed cybersecurity, data integrity, and validation into project execution across complex programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline, plus a minimum of 10+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience supporting delivery of automation or digital scope within pharmaceutical, biotech, or regulated environments.
• Working knowledge of automation systems (DeltaV, PLC/SCADA) and manufacturing digital platforms (MES, historians, data integration).
• Ability to manage project scope, schedule, deliverables, and cross-functional coordination across complex programs and stakeholder groups.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end delivery of digital and automation scope across capital project phases (FEL to qualification).
• Manage scope, schedule, cost, risks, and dependencies to align with objectives.
• Monitor performance and resolve complex technical, organizational, and execution challenges.
