Job summary

Rivian is seeking a Senior Technical Program Manager for its Body Manufacturing Engineering team in Normal, IL. You will lead cross-functional scope across joining, assembly, tooling, and simulation—translating commitments into readiness and proactive risk mitigation.

You will align cost, timing, quality, mass, and CAPEX/ED&D investments with structured execution, while reporting to a Sr. Manager, Manufacturing Engineering. This pivotal role drives launch readiness and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field; advanced degree preferred.
• 4+ years in automotive manufacturing engineering or technical program management with BIW experience.
• Knowledge of joining methods, assembly tooling, DFM, and simulation.
• Ability to lead multi-workstream programs in a fast-paced environment; clear deliverables and timelines.
• Experience with CAPEX, Finance, and cross-functional supplier collaboration.
• Strong written and verbal communication, including executive presentations.

Responsibilities

• Drive the integrated program schedule for Body Manufacturing Engineering from concept to steady-state production.
• Align cross-functional teams to ensure equipment, tooling, and process readiness meet gate milestones.
• Identify and mitigate program risks related to cost, timing, quality, and tooling budgets.
• Translate DFM studies and simulation insights into actionable design and process decisions.
• Manage engineering changes, tooling mods, and line trials for running product updates.
• Oversee tooling vendors and equipment suppliers through schedule, buy-off, and commissioning milestones.
• Establish standard program management practices and executive-level reporting.
• Support prototype, pilot, and pre-production builds to ensure launch readiness.
• Leverage data and AI tools to auto-generate reports, reducing admin burden.
• Lead escalation topics toward productive outcomes and embody Rivian's Compass values.
