NextEdge seeks a Telecommunications Technician II-Maintenance in Jacksonville, FL. This senior role leads complex tower construction, maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and equipment installation at height, ensuring safety, quality, and compliance with standards.

As Top Hand, you guide crew on site, supervise grounding, coax/fiber handling, testing (sweep, PIM, fiber), and documentation. Travel ~50% is expected; valid climbing and rescue certifications are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• NWSA TTT2 certification is preferred.
• OSHA 30 certification is preferred.
• First Aid/AED/CPR certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and execute complex tower construction, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair activities.
• Serve as the point leader on the tower to ensure safety, efficiency, and task completion.
• Perform maintenance on tower structures, antennas, mounts, transmission lines, grounding systems, cabling, and related equipment.
• Inspect equipment to identify damage or issues requiring repair or replacement.
• Troubleshoot equipment and system issues and perform necessary repairs or replacements.
• Oversee advanced installation and maintenance tasks, including grounding, coax/fiber handling, Capstan hoist operations, and connector installation.
• Conduct and supervise testing activities, including sweep, PIM, and fiber testing.
• Document maintenance work and communicate repair needs to foreman or project team.
• Maintain tools and safety equipment in safe working condition.
• Provide mentorship and on-the-job training to junior technicians.
