Job summary

Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP's Ft. Lauderdale/Miami office seeks a Litigation Paralegal with experience in tort defense, including personal injury and property damage.

You will support attorneys with research, fact investigation, and document preparation in accordance with firm policies. The role requires at least five years of civil litigation experience and familiarity with expert retention and medical chronologies.

Qualifications

• Minimum of five years of general civil litigation experience.
• Experience with expert retention and preparing medical chronologies is a must.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred; nursing home/medical malpractice defense preferred.

Responsibilities

• Continual review and management of case files from inception through mediation/arbitration/trial/settlement.
• Prepare subpoenas compelling depositions and/or document productions.
• Prepare initial discovery requests and responses, including privilege logs.
• Prepare attorneys for depositions and trial; organize exhibits and binders.
• Research, vet and engage with subject matter experts; manage deadlines.
