Job summary

SAAB is seeking a Senior Tooling Engineer to lead the design, optimization, and lifecycle support of complex tooling for advanced defense and aerospace systems. You will translate product and manufacturing requirements into robust, safe tooling solutions, collaborating with design engineering, operations, quality, and suppliers in a regulated, safety-critical environment.

Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
Proven experience leading tooling design for aerospace/defense.
Experience with standards and processes in regulated environments.

Responsibilities

Lead design, optimization, and lifecycle support of tooling for tooling for machining, composites, assembly, and test.
Translate product and manufacturing requirements into robust tooling solutions.
Develop 3D models and drawings; perform tolerance and structural analyses.
Drive root-cause investigations and continuous improvement to increase reliability and throughput.
Mentor junior engineers and contribute to technology roadmaps in automation and smart tooling.
Ensure compliance with aerospace standards and Saab processes.
