Job summary

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related field.

• Lead design, optimization, and lifecycle support of tooling for tooling for machining, composites, assembly, and test.
• Translate product and manufacturing requirements into robust tooling solutions.
• Develop 3D models and drawings; perform tolerance and structural analyses.
• Drive root-cause investigations and continuous improvement to increase reliability and throughput.

In this role, you will translate product and manufacturing requirements into robust, safe, and maintainable tooling solutions for machining, composite fabrication, assembly, and test. You will collaborate closely with design engineering, operations, quality, and suppliers in a highly regulated, safety-critical environment. Responsibilities include developing 3D models and drawings, performing tolerance and structural analyses, driving root-cause investigations, and leading continuous improvement initiatives to increase reliability, throughput, and ergonomics. You will mentor junior engineers, contribute to technology roadmaps in automation and smart tooling, and ensure compliance with aerospace standards and Saab processes.
