Job summary

IntePros is currently seeking a Sr. Associate Tooling Engineer to lead production tooling performance for a medical device client in Tempe, AZ. You will oversee tooling spares, guide repairs, and decide on mold refurbishment or replacement while supporting production troubleshooting.

The role requires 5–8 years in engineering, GD&T and SolidWorks proficiency, and a strong background in injection molding and GMP/GLP environments. Strong communication and leadership skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent four-year technical degree or commensurate work experience.
• 5-8 years of experience in an engineering capacity.

Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain tooling spare parts to ensure production readiness.
• Lead troubleshooting and resolution of tooling-related production issues.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support stable manufacturing operations.
• Mentor Tooling Engineers and Mold Makers to build technical capability.
• Provide clear technical guidance to team members and leadership.
• Maintain and update tooling documentation, standards, and repair guidelines.
• Support repairs, refurbishments, and component replacements with internal teams and suppliers.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on tooling reliability, uptime, and quality.
• Oversee tooling lifecycle health including wear tracking, refurbishment planning, and end-of-life decisions.
• Support validation and ramp-up of new or refurbished molds.
• Participate in new product development design reviews to avoid mold design/functional problems.
