Job summary

Venteon is seeking a Tooling Engineer for the Fort Wayne, IN area. The role requires 5+ years in automotive stamping die troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance, plus 4+ years die machining and toolmaking. 3+ years modeling in 3D software (SolidWorks) is required, along with hands-on problem solving on the plant floor.

Qualifications

• Must have 5+ years experience in Automotive stamping die troubleshooting, repair and maintenance.
• Must have 4+ years experience in stamping die machining and assembly (toolmaking).
• 3+ years modeling experience in 3-D software (SolidWorks or equivalent).
• Hands-on problem solving of tooling in press and on the plant floor.

Responsibilities

• Provide input and direction in sourcing, design, construction, PPAP and launch of new tools, fixtures and equipment for future programs and current changes.
• Assist tool-room personnel and/or vendors in solving problems arising from production processes, tool tryouts, and launching of new programs.
• Estimate, schedule and execute all engineering changes of tooling, cost savings, etc.
• Coordinate changes with Program Management, Manufacturing, Quality, Finance to meet production schedules and delivery dates.
• Provide technical support for product development and design.
• Use technology on new and current processes and tools to meet customer specifications.
• Stay informed of latest tooling technologies and implement beneficial ideas.
• Establish new sourcing methods for tooling to improve capability and cost effectiveness.
