Job summary

SAAB is seeking a Senior Tooling Engineer to lead the design, optimization, and lifecycle support of tooling for advanced defense and aerospace systems within our Engineering & Design organization. In this role, you will translate product and manufacturing requirements into robust tooling solutions for machining, composite fabrication, assembly, and test.

You will collaborate closely with design engineering, operations, quality, and suppliers in a highly regulated, safety-critical environment,

Qualifications

• Experience designing tooling for machining, composites fabrication, assembly and test.
• Strong ability to develop and interpret 3D models and drawings.
• Familiarity with aerospace standards and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, optimization, and lifecycle support of complex tooling for defense and aerospace programs.
• Translate product and manufacturing requirements into robust tooling solutions.
• Collaborate with design, operations, quality and suppliers in safety-critical environments.
• Develop 3D models and drawings; perform tolerance and structural analyses.
• Drive root-cause investigations and lead continuous improvement initiatives.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to technology roadmaps for automation and smart tooling.
