Job summary

The Redesign Group is seeking a Senior Tooling and Automation Engineer to own the managed services tooling ecosystem. You will write integrations, automations, skills, and apps linking RMM, network monitoring, backup reporting, and service management platforms with AI-assisted development as the primary method.

You will manage Jira Service Management configurations and end-to-end alert lifecycle, acting as the senior escalation point for tooling failures.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in an MSP or enterprise IT environment focused on tooling, automation, or systems integration.
• Hands-on experience building integrations using REST APIs, webhooks, and structured data.
• Experience administering Jira Service Management or a comparable ITSM platform.
• Working knowledge of RMM, network monitoring, and backup tooling with tuned alerting.
• Solid understanding of ITIL and change management; ability to operate in a structured framework.
• Strong troubleshooting skills across platforms, integrations, and automation with clear customer-facing communication.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain integrations between platforms using APIs, webhooks, and email, writing the connecting code, skills, and apps with AI-assisted development tools.
• Own Jira Service Management configuration, including screens, workflows, custom ticket and request types, automations, and queues.
• Identify noise across the alerting cycle, both human and system, and tune the stack so only actionable alerts reach the team.
• Serve as the senior escalation point for tooling failures, including broken integrations and false positives.
• Set and enforce standards for how core tooling integrates and alerts, collaborating with platform administrators.
• Identify gaps in the tooling stack and lead build-or-buy decisions with business justification and rollout.
• Ensure every customer’s tooling is fully deployed and tuned to their environment, including OS patching and observability policies.
• Explain tooling to customers in plain terms, covering installation and environmental impact.
• Produce SLAs, utilization, and operational reports for delivery leadership from tooling data.
• Execute all work within an ITIL-aligned change management framework and maintain thorough documentation.
