Job summary

IAC Group in Arlington, TX is seeking a permanent, full-time Tool/Mold Maker for the 3rd shift. The role involves setting up and operating lathes, milling machines, EDMs, and grinders, molding and mold repair, and leading projects on new molds or major revisions.

Ideal candidates will have 5–10 years of mold-making and repair experience, knowledge of hydraulics, mechanics, and electrical systems, and a proven ability to train apprentices and colleagues.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 5-10 years of mold-making, repair, and maintenance experience.
• Broad knowledge of molding and injection mold repair with the ability to diagnose and troubleshoot hydraulics, mechanical, and electrical problems.
• Strong experience with stoning and polishing mold components.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate lathes, milling machines, EDMs, and surface/cylindrical grinders.
• Tool assembly/disassembly.
• Mold repair and maintenance including Red Tag work orders.
• Instructs other toolmakers and apprentices in operation and setup of tool room equipment.
• Welding TIG/MIG and micro-welding.
• Constructs injection molds from basic to high complexity.
• Completes engineering changes and revisions to injection molds.
• Repairs injection mold cavities and cores due to damage or wear.
• Builds fixtures and gauges as needed.
• Performs Project Leader duties on a new mold or major revision and ensures project quality.
• Would be assisted by an apprentice or another toolmaker for setups and machining methods.
• Observe health and safety requirements and keep the work area neat and orderly.
• Performs reasonably related duties as assigned.
