Job summary

A-dec is seeking a skilled Tool Maker II to support our manufacturing teams by building, repairing, and editing jigs, fixtures, and cutting tools using CAD/CAM data.

You will work from engineering drawings and CAD files to create precise tooling up to 0.0002" accuracy, program CAM/CNC equipment, and mentor apprentices while upholding safety and quality standards. This role offers growth in a global dental company.

Qualifications

• Four to six years of close tolerance machining experience with CNC mills, lathes, and surface/tool grinders.
• Proficiency with 3D CAD (Inventor) and CAM programming/editing (Mastercam).
• Knowledge of fixture tooling concepts, work holding, manufacturing methods, heat treating, and tool steel selection.
• Ability to read/write English and follow instructions; able to troubleshoot with credible data.

Responsibilities

• Builds, repairs, and edits designs of high-precision parts, jigs, fixtures, and related tooling using drawings/models.
• Provides grinding services to create/modify custom cutting tools.
• Instructs internal customers on proper use and care of tools.
• Develops and improves cutter designs for better performance.
• Creates CNC programs from CAD data, codes tooling, and maintains CAM/CAD files.
