Job summary

Korry Electronics in Everett, WA seeks a Tool and Die Maker to partner with punch press, injection mold, and assembly teams to design, build, and maintain tools, dies, molds, fixtures, and machine components.

You will plan and create molds, troubleshoot and repair, perform periodic maintenance, and collaborate with outside vendors to ensure quality parts. Requires 10+ years of shop experience and mold design expertise; CAD/CAM, mold flow, and EDM tools are a plus.

Qualifications

Knowledge of metal characteristics including heat-treating.
Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing.
Strong orientation towards quality, safety, and continuous improvement.
Ability to prototype parts.
Working knowledge of injection mold machines/press room equipment and machinery.
Working proficiency using conventional and CNC tool-room equipment and machinery.

Responsibilities

Plan, design, and create molds.
Troubleshoot, modify and repair existing molds.
Perform periodic mold and die maintenance at suggested intervals.
Modify or repair existing tooling and progressive dies.
Die conversions, e.g. punch or die section changes for multiple part configurations.
Examine dies and tooling components and recommend design modifications for improvement.
Apply Root Cause Analysis to tooling breakages and permanent corrective actions.
Perform precision work to exacting tolerances and dimensions; recommend revisions as needed.
Work with outside suppliers and vendors.
