Job Description

Flex-N-Gate Effingham is looking for an experienced Tool Maker. The Tool Maker will fabricate and repair molding dies, fixtures, gauges, and tools.

Responsibilities

• Examine form and texture of plastic parts to detect imperfections on Class A surfaces.
• Dismantle dies to assess repair and tool.
• Study specifications such as blue prints, sketches, models or descriptions and visualize the product to determine materials required and machines to be used to fabricate parts.
• Lift dies with overhead cranes.
• Verify dimensions, alignments and clearances.
• Examine tools and recommend design modifications regarding construction and function of the part.
• Working knowledge of mill, lathe, surface grinder, TIG welding.
• Knowledge of hydraulics and electrical troubleshooting.

Qualifications

• 3‑5 years of experience in tool and die repair role.
• Experience with plastic injection molding tools preferred.
• Ability to perform fabrication and repairs utilizing machinery.
• Experience with overhead cranes preferred.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.
