Job summary

Jobot is seeking a skilled Toolmaker with CNC experience to support aerospace tooling, fixtures, and dies in a low-volume, high-mix environment. You will operate 3–5 axis CNC mills, lathes, and grinders, interpret drawings with GD&T, and plan tooling and sequences for prototype builds.

The role requires 5+ years in toolmaking or CNC machining, Mastercam/SolidWorks proficiency, and experience with stainless steel. Competitive pay, OT, and benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of Toolmaker, Tool & Die, or CNC machining experience in a precision environment.
• Experience designing and building new dies, as well as repairing old dies as needed.
• Proficiency in Mastercam and SolidWorks.
• Familiarity with stamping press operations.
• Experience machining stainless steel required.
• Proficiency with precision measuring equipment and inspection techniques
• Strong mathematical skills (geometry, trigonometry for complex machining calculations)
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of projects from print to completion
• CAD/CAM software experience with Mastercam experience preferably using HAAS and Fryer CNC Machines

Responsibilities

• Build, modify, and repair precision tooling, fixtures, gauges, and dies used in aerospace manufacturing.
• Set up and operate CNC mills, lathes, and grinders (3, 4, and/or 5-axis) to machine complex components.
• Interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and specifications to determine machining approach and tolerances.
• Plan machining sequences, select tooling, and perform setups for prototype and short-run tooling builds.
• Perform precision machining operations including milling, turning, boring, drilling, threading, and grinding.
• Conduct in-process and final inspections using micrometers, calipers, indicators, height gauges, and CMM equipment.
• Troubleshoot machining processes, tooling issues, and dimensional discrepancies during build and prove-out.
• Fabricate and adjust custom tooling and fixtures as needed to support production efficiency.
• Maintain compliance with aerospace quality standards (AS9100, NADCAP as applicable).
• Document inspection results, process changes, and shift hand-off notes.
• Collaborate with engineering, quality, and production teams to improve tooling design and manufacturability
