Job summary

Amity Die and Stamping Co. in Lake Forest, IL is seeking an experienced Journeyman Tool and Die Maker to build and maintain tooling for progressive, compound, and secondary dies. The role reports to the Tool Room Manager and requires standing for long periods, lifting up to 50 lbs, and overtime when needed.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years as a Journeyman, a High School Diploma with TMA certification or equivalent, and proficiency in SolidWorks or AutoCAD. ISO 9001-2015 familiarity is a plus.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years as Tool and Die Journeyman.
• High School Diploma and TMA certificate or equivalent.
• Familiar with ISO 9001-2015 quality policy and requirements.
• Ability and willingness to work overtime when necessary.
• Experience building tooling for progressive, compound, and secondary dies.
• Spanish bilingual is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Familiar with the Quality Policy and Objectives ISO 9001-2015.
• Build components for new tooling per design requirements.
• Build components for existing tooling per customer changes and requirements.
• Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair equipment for continued operations of production orders.
• Machine changeover components on multiple part tooling.
• Communicate with department manager on status of work.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
• Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
