Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 6 years of prior design engineering experience.
• Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior design engineering experience.
• In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior design engineering experience.
• 3 years of experience in the design of tooling to support manufacturing.
• 2 years of experience using a solid modeling program such as Unigraphics NX, Pro-Engineer, AutoCAD Inventor, Catia, CREO or Solid Works.

Responsibilities

• Design mechanical tooling for the production of solid fuel rocket motors and warheads.
• Develop manufacturing strategies for specific products and processes.
• Actively participate with engineering project teams to coordinate the release of new products.
• Utilize CAD equipment to develop basic data and present design proposals.
• Investigate design factors such as ease of manufacture, materials availability, cost and interchangeability.
• Define existing equipment problems, design repairs and modifications.
• Interface with production, program management and safety to develop requirements and tooling needs.
• Ability to obtain a US Secret security clearance.
