Job summary

RH Aero Systems in Mason, Ohio, is seeking a Senior Tool & Die Maker to own fabrication, assembly, modification, and validation of military-grade tooling from concept to production. You will convert prototypes into scalable, well-documented processes and interpret engineering drawings with GD&T to determine build methods.

The role requires seven+ years in precision machining or tooling, aerospace exposure, and hands-on CAD/CAM/CNC experience.

Qualifications

• Progressive experience in precision machining or tooling, ideally in aerospace.
• Strong blueprint reading and GD&T skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of fabricating, assembling, modifying, and validating tooling from concept to production.
• Transform prototypes and one-off builds into scalable manufacturing processes.
• Interpret engineering drawings, CAD models, specs, and GD&T to determine build methods.
• Set up and operate CNC equipment to produce precision components and tooling.
• Troubleshoot manufacturability, tolerance, material, and quality issues to protect delivery.

What You Will Bring?A background as a Tool & Die Maker or Precision Machinist, gained through education, an apprenticeship, hands-on experience, or an equivalent combination of these qualifications.At least seven years of progressive experience in precision machining or tooling, ideally within aerospace, defense, or another highly regulated manufacturing environment.Advanced, hands-on expertise in blueprint reading, GD&T, precision measurement, CNC machining, fixture design, materials, and machining practices.A proven ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, balance competing priorities, and consistently deliver results with minimal oversight.Strong creativity, mechanical aptitude, personal ownership, and a continuous improvement mindset grounded in Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost.Experience with CAD/CAM, CNC programming, new-product introduction, and Lean or Kaizen practices is preferred.
