Job summary

First American is seeking a licensed attorney with 8–10 years of title underwriting experience to join its NJ-based Agency Division. You will provide underwriting support, guidance on real estate settlements, and ensure compliance with federal and state regulations.

This role permits remote work within driving distance of New Jersey with occasional local travel for meetings and events. Candidate must have a law degree, be admitted to practice, and in good standing.

Qualifications

• Law degree required and admitted to practice in the state of employment.
• 8–10 years of title underwriting experience with real estate knowledge.
• Strong communication and negotiation abilities for agents and teams.

Responsibilities

• Provide underwriting support and authorization for real estate title insurance commitments.
• Apply underwriting standards within delegated authority to title insurance issuance.
• Guide company personnel in real estate settlement services.
• Issue underwriting standards and guidelines per established processes.
• Communicate underwriting and settlement information to the team.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
