Job summary

Old Republic Title is seeking a Senior Underwriter/Officer to provide expert underwriting guidance, support title operations, and deliver exceptional customer service. The role requires Illinois underwriting experience and a hybrid schedule from one of our Chicagoland office locations.

Responsibilities include mentoring junior underwriters, reviewing deeds and title documents, and collaborating with internal teams to ensure compliance with underwriting standards and company policies.

Qualifications

• Experience in underwriting and risk assessment.
• Ability to mentor junior underwriters.
• Strong customer service and relationship management.

Responsibilities

• Review underwriting questions promptly, via email or shared folders.
• Assist Title Examiners with title worksheets and commitments.
• Mentor junior underwriter to build knowledge of underwriting standards.
• Provide exceptional customer service to attorneys and approved customers.
• Collaborate with colleagues to evaluate complex risks and ensure policy compliance.
• Communicate underwriting concerns to management.
• Support sales reps in strengthening customer relationships.
• Underwrite and service title insurance transactions in Illinois as needed.
