Job summary

Huntress Labs is seeking a Senior Detection Engineering & Threat Hunting Analyst to join our 100% remote US team. You will join a 24/7 SOC ecosystem, designing detections, performing proactive hunts, and translating threat intelligence into actionable signals.

You’ll work across identities and endpoints, collaborating with engineering and security teams to improve detection fidelity and speed. You will turn hypotheses into detections, tune rules, and develop dashboards.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in detection engineering, threat hunting, SOC, MDR, or incident response.
• Intermediate knowledge of Windows internals.
• Working knowledge of Linux, macOS, Microsoft 365, Azure, and Google Workspace.
• Experience developing, testing, tuning, and documenting detections from threat intelligence or real investigations.
• Ability to communicate findings through clear reports.
• Knowledge of detection languages (Sigma, Suricata, Snort, or YARA) and query languages (KQL, EQL, ES|QL, Splunk SPL).
• Understanding adversary tradecraft and related goals.

Responsibilities

• Create and test detection rules across Huntress products and operating systems.
• Manage DE&TH requests from partners and internal teams.
• Conduct hypothesis-driven hunts across Huntress telemetry.
• Develop scalable detection portfolios enabling rapid SOC response.
• Review attacker activity and surface likely intrusions for deeper investigation.
• Produce blogs, social posts, videos, and webinars to share findings.
