Job summary

Cboe is seeking a Senior Engineer Threat Hunting to advance enterprise detection engineering, threat hunting, and adversary emulation. You will own end-to-end detection across SIEM, EDR, cloud, and identity, driving durable detections and architectural improvements.

As a senior individual contributor, you will lead complex hunts, mentor engineers, and collaborate with legal and regulatory stakeholders. This role requires autonomy and a proven ability to solve systemic security challenges.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 5-8+ years of cybersecurity operations, detection engineering, threat hunting, or offensive security.
• Proficiency in scripting and automation for security operations.
• Strong hands-on experience with SIEM, EDR, cloud security platforms, and log analytics.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex, hypothesis-driven threat hunts addressing cross-organizational risk.
• Define and advance enterprise detection engineering standards and long-term technical direction.
• Translate threat hunting findings into durable detections and improved telemetry.
• Mentor senior engineers and analysts to raise technical bar across detection and emulation.
• Partner with stakeholders to design adversary emulation scenarios validating real-world detection.
• Act as technical lead during high-severity incidents, guiding investigation and improvements.
