Job summary

Huntington Bancshares, Inc. seeks a Threat Detection Analyst Expert to develop and maintain high‑fidelity threat detections across SIEM, XDR, EDR, and cloud platforms. You will partner with Incident Response, Cybersecurity Operations, Threat Intelligence, and IT Ops teams to improve coverage and reduce gaps.

You will design detection content, validate with simulations, and drive continuous improvement while mentoring junior analysts and adapting to evolving attacker techniques.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or 8+ years of equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of experience in Cybersecurity.
• 1+ years data analytics in threat detection space.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and train junior Threat Detection Analysts.
• Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain threat detections across SIEM, XDR, EDR, cloud, and network security.
• Conduct detection engineering aligned to MITRE ATT&CK and attacker behaviors.
• Analyze threat intelligence and attack techniques to identify new detection opportunities.
• Develop and maintain detection use cases, analytics, and correlation rules.
• Perform detection validation via threat simulations, adversary emulation, and purple team exercises.
• Identify gaps and telemetry needs to improve visibility and coverage.
• Tune detection logic to reduce false positives and negatives.
• Create documentation, testing procedures, and coverage mappings.
