Job summary

Sophos is seeking a Senior Threat Analyst – Tier I for its MDR team. You will monitor, investigate, and respond to security alerts, working with a global team of threat hunters and incident responders.

The role emphasizes playbook-driven detection, proactive threat hunting, and detailed case documentation. Requirements include 3+ years in SOC/MDR, strong EDR/IDS/IPS experience, Windows and Linux telemetry analysis, and proficiency with SIEM and SQL.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in a SOC/MDR or cybersecurity-focused IT role.
• Proficient with endpoint and network security tools (EDR/IDS/IPS).
• Strong Windows and Linux/macOS telemetry interpretation.
• Experience with incident response and threat investigations.

Responsibilities

• Monitor, investigate, and respond to alerts from the Sophos security stack.
• Lead Tier I Analysts through escalated cases and mentor teammates.
• Perform end-to-end analysis on suspicious activity to assess scope and risk.
• Identify and respond to threats using approved playbooks and tooling.
• Document findings and outcomes in the MDR case management platform.
• Conduct threat hunting across the MDR customer base.
