Job summary

Vertiv Corporation is seeking a Thermodynamic Engineer (SFA/ETO - Chillers) to lead engineering from quotation through detailed design and implementation for customized to-order chillers in the Westerville, OH area.

You will perform thermodynamic calculations, select components, review CAD drawings and BOMs, and collaborate with mechanical and electrical teams to ensure timely delivery and compliance with standards. Travel may be required.

Qualifications

• BSME or thermodynamics background required.
• 5+ years in chiller or liquid HVAC design, data-center applications.
• Strong thermodynamics and refrigeration knowledge, focus on high reliability.
• Experience with full product lifecycle management; Lean/Six Sigma preferred.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills.
• Willingness to travel.

Responsibilities

• Prepare technical and cost proposals for customer-requested modifications.
• Design and optimize main chiller components for data centers to balance performance and energy efficiency.
• Collaborate with Application Engineers to capture customer requirements.
• Coordinate with mechanical and electrical teams for implementation of approved special units.
• Ensure designs meet quality, reliability, cost, and delivery standards.
• Review and approve CAD drawings and BOMs.
• Manage multiple projects, balancing special development with production support.
