Job summary

Vertiv seeks a Senior Electrical Engineer for the SFA/ETO team responsible for full lifecycle electrical systems for data center chillers. You will prepare technical proposals, perform electrical design calculations, select components, and support testing and commissioning for engineered-to-order solutions.

You will work with thermodynamic, mechanical, and applications teams to deliver high-reliability units meeting customer specs, with onsite duty at Westerville, OH Polaris location.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or related field.
• 10+ years of electrical system design experience.
• Experience with ECAD tools and PLM systems.
• Familiarity with IEC, UL, IEEE standards for electrical design.
• Lean/Six Sigma concepts and DFx methodologies preferred.
• Strong problem-solving, strategic thinking, and project management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the electrical design for SFA/ETO chillers, ensuring performance, cost, and schedule objectives.
• Collaborate with thermodynamic and mechanical engineers, and application engineers to develop electrical solutions for customer requests.
• Ensure designs comply with IEC, UL, IEEE and internal requirements.
• Perform system-level electrical simulations and analyses for high-reliability applications.
• Develop electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and BOMs using ECAD tools (Creo Schematic).
• Coordinate with procurement, manufacturing, and external suppliers on component selection and integration.
• Support process improvement and harmonization of electrical design standards within the team.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide guidance on electrical best practices.
