Job summary

Vast is seeking a Senior Test Engineer, Thermal Control Systems, in Long Beach to lead the full lifecycle of thermal test campaigns for space habitats. You will hands-on assemble, instrument, and test thermal and fluid hardware, develop plans with rigorous traceability, and collaborate across design, systems, and manufacturing teams to ensure on-time delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Manufacturing Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years experience in thermal/fluid/test engineering in aerospace or similar demanding environments.
• Experience owning end-to-end test campaigns and contributing to test automation.

Responsibilities

• Own full lifecycle of thermal control system test campaigns, from CONOP to data closeout.
• Perform hands-on assembly, integration, instrumentation, and testing of thermal and fluid systems.
• Develop detailed test plans, procedures, and manufacturing plans with traceability.
• Collaborate across engineering teams and suppliers to ensure manufacturability and timely delivery.
• Investigate root causes and implement corrective actions.
• Provide technical input in design/test reviews and support continuous improvement.
• Mentor junior engineers and help standardize test practices.
