Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking a Technology Strategy Applications Engineer to solve data center cooling challenges and boost brand awareness in the Data Center Vertical.

Reporting to the Director of Business Development and Technology Strategy for Thermal Management, you will partner with the Global Data Center Technical Selling team to design efficient facility water solutions for air-cooled, liquid-cooled, and hybrid systems.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of experience designing mechanical cooling systems (chillers, chilled water pumping/storage) in data center or similar environments.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in data center industry with cooling systems for IT equipment.
• Strong technical knowledge of mission critical cooling systems and market trends.
• Exceptional presentation and communication skills; ability to influence stakeholders.
• Experience in strategic planning, marketing, and market research.
• Highly developed prospecting skills to identify key decision-makers.
• Proactive, self-motivated with ability to work independently while collaborating cross-functionally.
• Willingness to travel globally.

Responsibilities

• Identify challenges and goals of data center designers; develop tailored solutions.
• Develop globally applicable reference designs for facility water production across cooling modalities.
• Engage with partners and stakeholders to author white papers and guides.
• Engage with design community at conferences and events to shape next-gen cooling architecture.
• Provide in-depth technical support on facility water products to internal and external teams.
• Collaborate with R&D, Training, Product Management, and Technical Support to align market needs with product strategies.
