Job summary

Johnson Controls in the United States seeks a Technology Strategy Applications Engineer to solve data center cooling challenges and enhance brand awareness in the Data Center Vertical.

Reporting to the Director of Business Development and Technology Strategy, you will work with the Global Data Center Technical Selling team to design scalable cooling solutions and provide expert technical support. Travel globally as needed; hybrid work arrangement with relocation support for eligible candidates.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience designing mechanical cooling systems such as chillers, chilled water pumping and storage systems.
• Minimum 5 years of experience within data center industry, directly responsible for cooling system designs.
• Strong technical knowledge of mission-critical cooling systems, applications and market trends.
• Exceptional presentation and communication skills, with ability to influence decision-makers at all levels.

Responsibilities

• Identify challenges of data center designers and tailor cooling solutions for customers.
• Define innovative, scalable, repeatable thermal management solutions for multiple sites or geographies.
• Develop globally applicable reference designs to produce facility water for air-cooled, liquid-cooled, or hybrid cooling in data centers.
• Engage with industry partners to author white papers, case studies, or application guides for cooling equipment and systems.
• Collaborate with R&D, Training, Product Management, and Technical Support to ensure market needs are met and tools aligned.
