Advantest America Inc. in Lake Forest, CA is seeking a Senior Thermal Systems Engineer to lead thermal scope on multi‑discipline test systems for the semiconductor industry.

You will own thermal design and validation from architecture to mass production, mentor junior engineers, and serve as the main technical contact for thermal issues on programs. The role requires a bachelor’s in Mechanical/Thermal or Physics, 8+ years in semiconductors, hands‑on testing, knowledge of liquid cooling, PID

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Mechanical/Thermal Engineering or Physics required; master preferred.
• 8+ years in semiconductor industry with independent thermal scope leadership.
• Active thermal control experience in semiconductor industry required.
• Experience with liquid-cooled and refrigerant-based systems.
• Hands-on thermal system testing and design validation.
• 3D CAD design experience (SolidWorks) preferred.
• Ability to travel up to 20% to customer sites.
• Strong analytical and synthesis capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the thermal lead on assigned programs and draft requirements.
• Own thermal system design and validation for liquid-cooled and refrigerant-based systems.
• Lead design across prototyping, validation, and mass production.
• Design and support heat exchangers, cold plates, heaters, chillers, and condensers.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical direction.
• Perform thermal analyses and ensure compliance with standards.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate thermal solutions.
• Provide hands-on support during installation and commissioning.
