Job summary

CesiumAstro in Denver, CO, is seeking a Senior Thermal Engineer to design, analyze, and validate thermal control systems for next-generation satellites, UAVs, and aerospace hardware. You will work in a cross-functional team with electrical and mechanical engineers across concept to qualification.

The ideal candidate has a BS or higher in mechanical/thermal/aerospace engineering and 5+ years of industry experience, with expertise in electronics cooling, ANSYS, and SolidWorks.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Thermal, or Aerospace Engineering from an accredited university.
• 5 years of industry experience in thermal/mechanical design and analysis.
• Expertise in electronics/PCBA, box, and system-level thermal design.
• Proficiency with simulation tools (ANSYS preferred) and SolidWorks.
• Experience in radiative, conductive, and convective heat transfer design.
• Ability to develop thermal resistance networks and reduced-order models.

Responsibilities

• Design, analyze, and validate thermal control systems for Cesium’s products.
• Define requirements and lead detailed designs from concept to manufacture.
• Collaborate with electrical and mechanical engineers on integrated solutions.
• Present design review materials to customers and upper management.
• Contribute to proposal-writing efforts.
