Job summary

Voyager Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Senior Thermal Engineer to design, build, test, and operate thermal control systems for spacecraft, including lunar landers and surface power systems.

The role reports to the Engineering Department in Pittsburgh, PA and is a hybrid position with regular on-site presence. You will lead thermal system work across integration, testing, and operations, collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, or similar Engineering with 8 years of spacecraft thermal systems experience, OR Master’s with 6 years related experience.
• Knowledge of spacecraft thermal system architecture, standards, and suppliers.
• Experience designing or analyzing thermal control system components (heaters, sensors, radiators, MLI, coatings, heat pipes).
• Experience with specifications, vendor management, and verification for thermal components.
• Experience using design/analysis software (Thermal Desktop, Ansys Thermal, Amesim).
• Experience with TVAC testing, test plans, operations, and data processing.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, integration, testing, and operation of thermal control systems for spacecraft.
• Create conceptual and detailed designs for thermal systems across lunar and surface power missions.
• Build and run thermal models to support operations and design decisions.
• Coordinate with program management and subsystems to assess requirements and risks.
• Develop integration instructions and support spacecraft assembly in cleanroom.
• Write test plans and support TVAC testing for components and subsystems.
• Prepare mission operations procedures and provide real-time ops support.
