Job summary

Voyager Technologies seeks a Senior Thermal Engineer to design, test, and operate spacecraft thermal control systems for lunar and space missions. You will lead thermal analyses, model development, and integration in a hybrid Pittsburgh environment, collaborating with propulsion and systems teams.

The role requires strong CAD and vendor-management skills, with experience in Thermal Desktop/Ansys and TVAC testing. ITAR compliance and travel may be involved.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, or similar Engineering with 8 years of experience in spacecraft thermal systems or Master’s with 6 years of related experience.
• Knowledge of spacecraft thermal system architecture, standards, and suppliers.
• Experience designing/analysing heaters, sensors, radiators, MLI, coatings, heat pipes, and related hardware.
• Experience with specification, vendor management, and verification for thermal components.
• Experience with thermal design/analysis software (Thermal Desktop, Ansys Thermal, Amesim).
• Experience with TVAC testing plans, operations, and data processing.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support design, integration, testing, and operation of spacecraft thermal control systems.
• Create conceptual and detailed designs for spacecraft thermal systems.
• Build and run thermal models to guide mission operations.
• Coordinate with management, systems engineering, and subsystems on requirements and risks.
• Create integration instructions and support spacecraft assembly in cleanroom.
• Write test plans and support TVAC testing for components and spacecraft.
• Develop mission operations procedures and provide real-time support.
