Job summary

Cummings Aerospace is seeking a Sr. Thermal Engineer in Arlington, VA to lead thermal design, analysis, and validation for hypersonic vehicle components. The role requires extensive experience in DoD missile systems and proficiency with major thermal tools.

Qualifications

• BS degree in engineering, physics or chemistry; MS preferred.
• 10+ years of thermal analysis experience with DoD missile/weapon systems.
• Experience with thermal modeling tools: Thermal Desktop, TRASYS, SINDA, NASTRAN, Fluint.
• Strong time management and communication skills; ability to work with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Support development of thermal system designs for components, subsystems and systems.
• Perform component through system-level thermal analysis for verification and performance.
• Assess thermal environments across flight phases, manufacturing to post-launch.
• Document and present analysis results to Program Management and customers.
• Interface across IPTs to align design assumptions and outputs.
• Lead or support definition of work products, schedules, and technical reports.
• Ensure compliance with corporate policies and procedures in daily duties.
• Other duties as assigned.
