Job summary

Aebi Schmidt North America seeks a Thermal Management Engineer to lead design, simulation, and integration of advanced thermal systems for our EV platform. You will develop heating/cooling across the high-voltage powertrain, including battery packs, electric drive units, power electronics, and cabin HVAC.

You will work with cross-functional teams to maximize energy efficiency, extend range, and ensure safety standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Thermal Engineering or related field.
• 6+ years of experience in thermal engineering within automotive/EV industry.
• Strong grounding in thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, convective heat transfer, and vapor compression cycles.
• Experience with HV EV battery thermal management, heat pump system design, or fast-charging thermal management.

Responsibilities

• System design and integration of thermal networks for battery, drive unit and cabin.
• CAD design of thermal systems and components; packaging studies and routing.
• Perform CFD/thermal analysis (1D/3D) using GT-Suite, Ansys Fluent to evaluate performance.
• Specify thermal hardware (chillers, high-voltage heaters, pumps, interface materials).
• Collaborate with controls/embedded teams to develop closed-loop thermal control algorithms.
• Plan and execute bench tests, environmental chamber tests, and track testing; validate models.
