Job summary

UCT in Hayward, CA is seeking a Design Engineer IV to lead the design of complex thermal solutions for semiconductor applications. You will translate customer requirements into manufacturable designs using CAD tools and collaborate with sales, operations, and manufacturing to drive products from concept through production.

Responsibilities include active participation in NPI processes, design reviews, and customer engagements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years design experience in semiconductor capital equipment.
• Experience with thermal management and electrical design preferred.
• Prototyping and testing experience desirable.
• Knowledge of quick-turn, engineer-to-order environments.

Responsibilities

• Designs thermal solutions for heating and temperature sensing applications using CAD software.
• Provide presentations to sales/operations staff when required.
• Research and analyze data from customer proposals, specifications, and manuals to determine design feasibility.
• Collaborate with internal account managers and operations to meet customer specifications.
• Coordinate with manufacturing for fabrication, test, and installation activities.
