Job summary

Konik is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to develop advanced thermal management solutions for high-performance electronic systems in Saint Paul, MN. You will design, model, prototype, and test cooling solutions, collaborating with engineers, customers, and project stakeholders.

The ideal candidate has 4+ years in mechanical design, with heat transfer, thermodynamics, and thermal modeling experience, and a strong ability to solve complex technical challenges across product lifecycles.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• 4+ years of mechanical design experience.
• Experience with heat transfer and thermal management.
• Experience with product development processes.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
• Experience with SolidWorks or similar 3D CAD.
• Experience with CFD and thermal modeling preferred.
• Experience with electromechanical assemblies is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop custom thermal cooling solutions for high-power electronic systems, equipment and test platforms.
• Perform thermal analysis, modeling, and design optimization using CFD tools.
• Support product development through design reviews, prototyping, testing and validation.
• Provide technical guidance on thermal design, heat transfer, and refrigeration systems.
• Develop and improve mechanical designs to meet product specs, regulatory requirements, and performance standards.
• Collaborate with engineering, sales, customer service and project teams to resolve technical challenges and incorporate feedback.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying process improvements and engineering solutions.
• Maintain expertise in thermal management, electromechanical systems, and equipment design.
