Job summary

Vertiv in the United States is seeking a Sr. Principal Engineer – Thermal Advanced Development to shape next‑generation cooling technologies for data centers, including liquid cooling and cryo‑cooling.

You will lead cross‑functional teams, develop robust design guidelines, mentor engineers, and drive technology roadmaps from concept to proof‑of‑concept, coordinating with NPDI for productization and engaging external partners. Travel up to 10%.

Qualifications

• Min 10-15 years of experience in engineering leadership.
• Ability to travel up to 10%.
• Extensive track record as a technical lead directing multi-disciplinary project teams.
• Deep expertise in thermodynamics, heat transfer, and fluid mechanics.
• Strong ability to write clear, actionable design guidelines and technical documentation.
• Experience with 3D CAD software, CREO 4.0 or newer.

Responsibilities

• Define and lead the technical strategy for mission critical thermal advanced development projects from concept through prototype validation.
• Serve as the senior technical lead on cross-functional project teams, directing engineering activities and ensuring milestones.
• Develop and document comprehensive design guidelines and specifications for handover to NPDI teams.
• Mentor and lead engineers and technicians on projects, fostering a collaborative high-performance team.
• Represent Vertiv as a subject matter expert at industry conferences and with external partners.
• Conduct and oversee thermal analysis, modeling, and testing to validate advanced cooling concepts.
